A pull-out box system is a steel casing embedded into concrete formwork at joints where future concrete pours or structural extensions will connect. It houses reinforcement bars (rebar) inside the casing during the first concrete pour. When the formwork is removed and subsequent pours are needed, the protective lid is taken off, and the bars inside are straightened and overlapped with new reinforcement.
